How to Use Social Media for Hotel Marketing
With places like Hilton, Marriott, Comfort Inn and Suites, and so many other large hotels, it’s hard to hold a candle to all their luxuries and amenities. Hotels without all the resources as these corporate hotels have to find better, more efficient ways of hotel marketing. That’s where social media comes into play.
Email isn’t necessarily a form of social media, but people use it just as much. Hotels can send out emails to their guests to invite them back for future stays. One company that excels in making this happen for hotels is Buzzy Booth. Buzzy Booth has a photobooth that will collect guest data so they can continue to be contacted after their stay. Guests can be invited to upcoming events, asked to return, asked to refer friends, or they can simply be asked (and reminded) to review their stay. Hotel email marketing is simple and effective.
Facebook is one of the best social media sites to use because almost everyone has it. People from ages 16-80+ log on to view the profiles of their friends and family. They scroll through pictures, watch videos, and spend hours learning more about other people. Hotels can appear on guest pages if they like their page. This is a great way of getting more attention. Hotels could offer a discounted rate on a stay if guests like them on Facebook. Or they could offer something smaller, like free parking or a discount at the hotel restaurant. This will draw guests to the Facebook page that frequently posts interesting Hotel Marketing ideas and events to draw guests back.
Instagram is a young person’s game, but it doesn't mean it’s not useful. There are so many luxury travel pictures online. Hotels could use pictures of their hotel, or surrounding places and attractions, to captivate Instagram users. If they like it, they may share it onto their own page. Thus, it will be marketing all over the internet for free.
Otherwise, hotels can use the Buzzy Booth photo booth photos to share how much fun guests are having at their hotel. Better yet, guests can share these photos online with the hotel logo. This will unintentionally (or at least unintentionally in the guest’s case) promote the hotel at no cost.
Social media has changed the way
people market their businesses. Hotels can market their business through any
and all social media accounts. They can participate in hotel email marketing to
receive new guests and they can get past guests to return. Thanks to social
media, hotel marketing is so much easier than it ever has been.
